Starcraft II Ghosts of the Past Trailer

Comic-Con

Though its been a fun four days for me with keeping up with the latest news and game updates from Comic-Con, the convention came to a close yesterday.  For those of you that couldn't be there (like me), Gamespot offers four videos of each day of Comic-Con, which I really enjoyed viewing.
Some of the highlights of Comic-Con were the announcement of space combat in Star Wars The Old Republic, DC Universe's launch on November 2, StarCraft of course coming out tomorrow, and other updates from games such as Gears of War 3, Dead Space, and Halo Reach.

The Force Unleashed 2

Darth Vader's apprentice is back in the upcoming game The Force Unleashed 2.  With even more power and abilities at your control, the game is definitely one that I want to get my hands on.  Here's the trailer:

Lego Universe

I've been following this game for a while, submitting to become a beta tester(in which I wasn't chosen), and keeping up with the current news about the upcoming game.  Growing up with Legos, I have many collections of my own and have enjoyed playing some of the Lego video games like Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Star Wars.  So this game will be one I definitely hope to play when it is released this year.
The game is a MMO(massively mulitplayer online game) which means you will be interacting with many other players online while you are adventuring.  Lego Universe follows a storyline involving a great Maelstrom threatening to destroy the entire universe.  Players join up with a group called Nexus Force to help defeat the evil that has come over the Lego Universe.
After watching some of the Lego Universe Beta videos of players already doing battle in the game, I recognized the gameplay as very similar to the other Lego video games and was impressed by the NPC(non-player character) interaction.  The interface looks very kid-friendly and maximizes simplicity, but also will attract the attention of all players due to the lush color scheme.  I also particularly liked the trailer for Lego Universe and have high hopes for the game becoming popular among all age groups.
While the wait is still long for the game's release, I feel as if Lego Universe is progressing very well and is keeping up with updating the players with the latest info on its advancement.

That Gravity Game

That Gravity Game is a imaginative and very addicting game from the Addicting Games website. The Game focuses on a marshmallow that gets struck by lightning one night and comes alive. Being the rebel that he is, our marshmallow friend named Marsh decides to stand up against his natural predator: humans. Sadly before he can initiate his plot against humanity, he falls into a gravity machine, where his adventure begins.
I really loved the creative introduction, but I also became very much addicted to the gaming style. As you play Marsh, you advance through a series of levels based on the manipulation of gravity to reach the goal. The game can be completed in about 30 minutes(I'm sure you won't be able to stop playing until you finish) and also has a notable soundtrack that goes along with it. So if your looking for a creative and addicting game to blow some time today, check out That Gravity Game at http://www.addictinggames.com/that-gravity-game.html.

Modern Warfare 2

You guys probably knew I couldn't hold off the review for this one very long. Modern Warfare 2 amazed me and I'm sure many others by its online play and involved campaign. Though I was one of the people who went straight to the online aspect of the game when it first came out, I eventually got to the campaign which astounded me. I truly felt the rush of adrenaline when jumping over the roofs of Favela or flying down slopes in a snowmobile.
The multi-player online for Modern Warfare 2 had me hooked for the first couple months after it's release, but then it just seemed to fade. I loved the customizable killstreaks and the overall feel to the online gaming, but mostly the other players caused me to lose interest. With the out of control "noob tubing" and campers attempting to achieve the all-powerful nuke, I got sick of it all and decided to find a different game.
Just recently I have returned to Modern Warfare 2 to check out the Stimulus Package which includes 5 new maps to play. Though I'm not quite as hooked to the game as I was, I still have fun running around with the Spas, blowing people's heads off.
Overall I liked the campaign storyline and the innovative online play for the most part so I would give Modern Warfare 2 a 9 out of 10. Thanks for reading and check back for my post on the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

What's up gamers? A few weeks ago I picked up Super Mario Galaxy 2, mostly because I liked the first game, but I was also intrigued about it earning a perfect score rating on some websites. Yep with a perfect 10 I thought this game was bound to be a real keeper in my collection... somehow I was wrong. For the 2-3 weeks I've owned this game I might have put 5 hours on it at most. I loved the graphics and everything, but that real addictiveness was just not there. And was it just me or was the intro supposed to be almost exactly like the first game?
Yes, I liked Mario's new power ups along with Yoshi's abilities, but it seemed to me there was no good reason to continue playing. "What about beating Bowser and saving the Princess?" you say?, well I can assure you I've done it a million times before and Peach really just needs fend for herself sometimes and give Mario a break. Anyway, I'll probably finish the game eventually, but for now it feels as if it fell behind the shadow of bigger games being released and was given the 10 to try and attract some needed attention. I'll be nice and give it a 8 because I think Mario is the coolest plummer I know, and the adventuring part makes it all the better.
